| 8265 | Waffen SS 1935 Pattern Steel Helmet BAND OF BROTHERS | This is a unique item being a 1935 pattern steel SS helmet. It was acquired from a dealer selling surplus film prop items including headgear, uniforms, medals and equipment. The helmet was said to be used in the Band of Brothers series (2001). There were dozens of items on sale including fake blood stained uniforms, helmets and equipment that were purchased as a job lot. The helmet is complete with liner and chinstrap which show signs of age and wear identical to the wartime issue, possibly original. The helmet has an internal stamp of TSR 64. TSR was Thomas Sturm of Rottenburg who founded a company in 1971 dealing in military surplus. He became a supplier of uniforms and equipment to the film industry. The general appearance of this helmet is virtually indistinguishable from the real thing but at a fraction of the price. Ideal for re-enactors or as a display item. | £ 235 |

Struck around 1890 with head to the right and inscription FURST OTTO VON BISMARCK KANZLER DES DEUTSCHEN REICHS . On the reverse side are two crowned eagles with standards, TRINITATE NOBUR on a banner below; around a series of eleven small cartouches with a name and date showing his lifes significant events beginning with his birth BEGOREN 1815 and ending with RUCKTRITT 1890 when he resigned.
